If the insured sustains injury, the Authority should be informed accordingly by filling in the notification form for work injury or occupational disease (Form No.17 - Social Insurance) and then the insured or the company's representative should be provided with the following forms:

  1. Initial medical report (Form No.18 - Social Insurance) for completion by the treating body.

  2. Appointment card and period of absence for treatment approved by the treating body (Form No. 19 - Social Insurance).

  3. Notification form for completion of treatment (Form No. 20 - Social Insurance).

The insured may put up a request to the Authority to reconsider the decision of the treating body within one week from completion of treatment or from the duty resumption date accompanied by supporting medical certificate.

After conducting the necessary investigation during the work on the circumstances that led to the occurrence of injury and whether the injury resulted from the work, the insured may avail the following benefits based on the developments of his/her injury:

Lump sum compensation for injury

  • If the injured worker is sustaining a percentage of disability he/she would be referred to the medical committee concerned to assess the occupational and non-occupational disability, type and degree of the same.

  • If the committee confirms the disability percentage, the compensation is paid provided it should be less than 30%

Pension for permanent partial disability

If the disability confirmed by the committee is equivalent to or more than 30% but it does not reach total disability (100%)

Pension for death or total disability due to occupational cause

Remarks:

  • The disease is considered as occupational if it is included in the diseases indicated in schedule (1) attached to the law.

  • The disability percentage is assessed by the above-mentioned medical committee according to the percentages indicated in schedule (2) attached to the law. The insured may put up a request to the Authority to reconsider the decision of the medical committee within one month from the date on which the insured is notified of the committee decision. The request should be accompanied by supporting medical certificate.

  • In case of death due to injury, the insured is entitled to pension for occupational death even if he was drawing a retirement pension from other body.

  • The documents required for death due to injury are the same ones of the natural death except the declaration for not drawing a retirement pension.
